Transportation

Metro – Best and most efficient way to travel in Barcelona.

All metro stations have ticket machines where you can purchase a ‘Hola Barcelona’ Tourist Travel Card that allows for unlimited travel for 2-5 days on metro and buses (TMB). It also includes a metro to/from airport.

Download the TMB app on your phone to navigate the different metro lines and destinations.

Buses (TMB) – cover areas that metro doesn’t reach.

Taxi/Cabify/Uber

Taxis and ride services such as Uber and Cabify are readily available and offer transportation through their applications.

Spanish Visa – FAQs

Do I need a visa to attend the wedding in Spain?

Visa requirements depend on your nationality. We kindly recommend checking whether you require a Schengen (Spanish) visa based on your passport.

Where do I apply for the visa?

Visa applications must be submitted through the Spanish Embassy or Consulate (or an authorized visa center) in your country of residence.

When should I apply?

We strongly encourage applying as early as possible, as appointment availability can be limited—especially during spring. Processing times typically range from 15 to 45 days, but may vary.

What passport requirements should I be aware of?

Your passport must be valid for at least 3 months after your departure from the Schengen Area and issued within the last 10 years.

Do I need travel insurance?

Yes. Travel medical insurance covering a minimum of €30,000 is mandatory for all Schengen visa applications.

Can I travel to other European countries with this visa?

Yes. A Schengen visa allows travel within multiple European countries. However, Spain must be your main destination (either your point of entry or the country where you will spend the most time).

Do I need a wedding invitation letter?

Some applicants may be asked to provide an invitation letter. For your convenience, we have included a downloadable wedding invitation letter on this page that you may complete and submit with your application if required.

Are flights and accommodation required before applying?

Requirements may vary by embassy. In many cases, flight reservations and accommodation details are requested as part of the application.
